We are a charity and company limited by guarantee. Our Directors volunteer to take responsibility to be in overall control and management of the charity – in law they are 'charity trustees'. Our board is made up of Anna Mathews, Awet Kifle, Bob Hamilton,David Reilly, Lesley-Anne Mitchell, Rita Lasbleiz, Shareen Gault, and Catherine Tabbner .
David Reilly is the Chair of our board of Directors. David has been involved in working with refugees since the initial dispersal to Glasgow volunteering and working at Positive Action in Housing and the Equality and Human Rights Commission. He currently works in at the Scottish Community Development Centre, working to support a community development approach to tackling inequalities. He is involved in promoting Co-production as an approach to changing the way public services are delivered and supporting community-led health initiatives as a method of tackling health inequalities between the most and least deprived communities.
Dr Anna Mathews is our Vice Chair. Anna is a practicing GP who has a particular interest in supporting people from an asylum seeking & refugee background
Lesley-Anne Mitchell is our Treasurer. A Chartered Accountant, Lesley-Anne has over 10 years’ experience as a business owner and Financial Director. Her financial and general management experience includes Multinational Plc's, SME's and Private Equity.
Shareen Gault is our Secretary. Having worked in private practice as a solicitor for several years, Shareen became Legal and Compliance Manager for the Student Loans Company in 2009. She is currently General Counsel and Company Secretary to an offshore renewable energy company based in Glasgow. In addition to her role on the Govan Community Project, Shareen is a Non Executive Director and Trustee for Citizens Advice Scotland
